
General Information The Tyler Day Nursery is a Four Star Vendor (highest rating) for the Texas Rising Star Provider Program. A level three (the highest level) day care provider licensed by the State of Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. Staff: Executive Director, Curriculum Director, Bookkeeper, 2 support staff, 23 teaching staff. Children: Approximately 100 from 6 weeks old to 5yrs old. Over 200 children on the waiting list. Open year round, weekdays, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Parents: Parents or primary caregivers must be employed, produce proof of employment every 3 months and have a household income below the national poverty line. Parents not currently employed must be in college or job training. Parenting Classes: Provided once a month at the nursery in collaboration with Parent Services Center, TDN parents are required to attend at least three classes per year. Parent Organization: PACK-Parent Advisory Committee for Kids, all parents encouraged to join. Governing Board of Directors: composed of representatives from area churches and civic organizations. Volunteers: As of the end of April 2004 a total of 315 volunteers put in 501 hours at the Nursery. Church groups, students, master gardeners, health care professionals, artists, all collaborate to bring help and experiences to the nursery’s needy children. |
