Grand Masters of the Grand Lodge of Texas have been issuing a coin to
commemorate their year in office for several years. Below are some examples.
Each Grand Master chooses a distinctive design for his emblem.
On the coins below the emblem is on the left side.
Grand Master Kelly, in 1987, produced not only coins, but other items to
commemorate the sesquicentenial year of the Grand Lodge of Texas, A. F. & A. M.
This produced a good income for the Grand Lodge and every Grand Master since that time has followed suit.
There are coins of different materials, coins made into money clips and bolo ties.
The emblem emblazons belt buckles, lapel pins, ball caps, polo shirts, ties, dominoes and playing cards.
A special committee handles all of the merchandise.

Past Master's Emblems

Below is an English Past Master's Jewel found in a grage sale shop on South Congress Avenue in Austin Texas. It was presented to Wor: Bro: F. Jones, W. M. 1952-53 of Travellers Lodge No. 2609. This Lodge is located in the north of Wales somewhere near Chester. We don't know how it ended up in Austin. A GLRT collar has been made for the Jewel and it will be presented, after the installation of officers, to the Immediate Past Master of Texas Lodge of Research on 15 March 2008 to be passed down each year to his successor.
