Concise Index to the Transactions of Texas Lodge of Research

Volumes I - XXXV

AN EXPLANATION

This fourth edition of the Concise Index to the Transactions of Texas Lodge of Research is published for the purpose of helping our members and Masonic researchers to locate subjects that may be useful to their research or curiosity.

Authors' names, titles of papers and notes, and general subject headings are presented by alphabetical order in one index. Authors' names appear in bold face type, titles of papers in italics, and subject headings in capitals. The authors' surnames are followed by their initials, except when the writer uses only one forename.

When the title of a paper is brief and self-explanatory, an entry may not have been made under a subject heading. Furthermore, when the opening words of the title of a paper are articles, or words, such as "Notes to", "Introduction to", they have been relegated to a subordinate position.

Obviously, an Index which professes to be Concise cannot index all persons, lodges, events and ideas referred to in the text of the papers presented and published. The number of such references would be overpowering. It is hoped, however, that within the self-imposed limitations of conciseness this Index will prove of service to the Craft by increasing the accessibility to the vast storehouse of Masonic information and knowledge contained in the thirty-five Volumes of Texas Lodge of Research Transactions.

The complete CONCISE INDEX is kept on an IBM compatible computer in WordPerfect Ver. 6.1 file format and will be updated as each new volume of Transactions is published. For a guide to proper indexing, INDEXING CONCEPTS AND METHODS by HAROLD BARKO and CHARLES L. BERNIER was followed as closely as possible.
